Mentorship

Home / About Us / Mentorship

Every champion’s journey begins with the drive to be more—to push further and rise higher. At World Cup Dreams Foundation, we believe that this relentless pursuit of excellence inspires every action we take on behalf of athletes throughout their careers and beyond. Our Mentorship Program exists to match that ambition, connecting athletes with seasoned professionals—former racers, coaches, and leaders—who understand what it takes to succeed at the highest level.

Through our Alumni Mentorship Program, On the Rise athletes are paired with volunteer mentors from the WCDF and T2 Foundation alumni networks. Pairings are made based on factors such as age, discipline, location, and shared interests to foster meaningful, athlete-led relationships. Mentors and athletes are encouraged to connect at least once a month—between October and March—through whichever method of communication suits them best.

Why does mentorship matter? Because when experience meets ambition, incredible things happen.

+ The next generation of world-class American racers gains inimitable insights from athletes and coaches who’ve lived it.
Young athletes grow not just on the hill, but as leaders, teammates, and individuals.
+Through shared experience and expert guidance, we help build resilience that lasts far beyond race day.
+ And above all, we create a community that nurtures growth, celebrates victories, and empowers athletes to pursue the dreams we all recognize in our own hearts.

This isn’t just support—it’s a collaboration sparked by the athlete’s vision and built on shared experience and purpose.

THE MENTOR DIFFERENCE

What they’re saying…

“It has been nice to talk about the mental side, and I’ve learned it’s very similar for (my mentor) and me. After injury, I learned so much about who I am—but also to trust who I am. Not only in skiing and strength-wise, but in life—being true to yourself.”
— Rhett Lindsey, On the Rise athlete on working with World Cup athlete Sam DuPratt

“I learned how to stay focused on recovery from my knee injury and fill up my days with things other than ski racing. Continuing to have a positive outlook the whole time and staying motivated to keep on the right track.”
— Hunter Peterson, On the Rise athlete on tips from Olympian Nolan Kasper
