An essential ingredient in stewarding a successful mission-oriented organization is curating a group of seasoned advisors who maintain long-term focus on behalf of day-to-day leadership and provide support needed to ensure that success.

We are grateful for the continuing commitment of
our Board of Directors.

Kate Davenport is a passionate advocate for community and athlete development, with a strong commitment to giving back to the people and places that shape her life. A former U.S. Ski Team member from 1989 to 1996, Kate’s early career as a professional skier instilled in her the value of focus, discipline, and perseverance. Over the years, she has honed her leadership skills through extensive experience on various boards, including her current role on the Board of Trustees for Proctor Academy. Known for her warmth, curiosity, and deep listening, Kate fosters collaboration and unity in every project she leads. With a strong character, integrity, and the ability to have tough conversations when needed, she brings a resilient and positive energy to everything she does. Her dedication to lifting others up and supporting those around her is the driving force behind her work, both in the ski community and beyond.

Kate Davenport Krehbiel

Phill Gross is a passionate supporter of U.S. ski athletes and a long-standing advocate for athlete development. He is the Co-Founder and Managing Director of Adage Capital Management, L.P., and brings decades of experience in finance and philanthropy to the World Cup Dreams Foundation board. Phill is also a board member of U.S. Ski & Snowboard, where he serves as Vice Chair of the Investment Committee. He co-founded Strategic Grant Partners to drive systemic change in education and family services, and serves as Vice President of Youth Enrichment Services (YES), a nonprofit introducing urban youth to outdoor sports. Phill’s commitment to empowering athletes—both on and off the hill—aligns deeply with WCDF’s mission.

Phill Gross

Caroline Mutter is a dedicated coach and leader in the ski racing community, with a career spanning over a decade at WMC Racing, where she has coached across U10–U14 levels and served on the Leadership Team and Advisory Board. Caroline actively contributes to the advancement of youth ski racing through her roles on NYSSRA’s governance and U12 subcommittees. A former racer from Carrabassett Valley Academy, she holds a USSS Level 300 certification and brings a deeply athlete-centered approach to her work. Currently, she coaches U16/U18 athletes at WMC, serves as Head Alpine Coach at The Hotchkiss School, and Assistant Coach at Berkshire School. Caroline’s belief in building leadership through positive athletic experiences aligns closely with the mission of the World Cup Dreams Foundation..

Caroline Mutter

Tom Karam has been a dedicated supporter of U.S. ski athletes for decades. As the founder of the T2 Foundation—now merged with the World Cup Dreams Foundation—Tom has played a critical role in helping elite, aspiring Olympic athletes offset the costs of travel, training, and education. Beyond his contributions to the ski community, Tom is the President and CEO of Delphi Midstream Partners, LLC, and has previously served as CEO of Southern Union Company, Pennsylvania Enterprises, Inc., and PE Energy, Inc. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Boys and Girls Club of Northeastern Pennsylvania.

Tom Karam

Armins Rusis is a seasoned financial leader with over 17 years at Morgan Stanley and a Managing Director role at Markit. With a background in Economics and Accounting from the Wharton School and a master’s from MIT, Armins brings valuable expertise to the World Cup Dreams Foundation Board. An avid skier, he is deeply committed to supporting winter sports and advocating for the U.S. Ski Team. His passion for the sport, particularly in women’s ski jumping, and his dedication to developing the next generation of athletes align closely with the mission of the Foundation. Armins also serves on the Board of Proctor Academy, further contributing to the growth and success of young athletes.

Armins Rusis

Bryon Friedman is a former U.S. Ski Team member and Dartmouth graduate who competed on the World Cup circuit for nearly a decade, earning multiple top-10 finishes in speed events. After retiring from skiing, Bryon co-founded Soul Poles, a company focused on sustainable ski equipment, and has since become a successful singer-songwriter. His music, influenced by his years on the road as an athlete, has been featured in films and on Sirius/XM Radio, where he was named the #1 Emerging Singer/Songwriter in 2010. With a deep passion for both skiing and supporting others, Bryon is dedicated to giving back to the ski community through his work with the World Cup Dreams Foundation, helping develop the next generation of athletes.

Ted Ligety is one of the greatest giant slalom skiers of all time, a two-time Olympic gold medalist, five-time World Champion, and five-time World Cup GS champion with 24 career victories. Known for revolutionizing giant slalom technique, Ted has had a lasting impact on the sport. After retiring from competition, he became the Head of Product Performance at DPS Skis, where he continues to shape the future of ski equipment. Ted is also the co-founder and chairman of SHRED, a brand dedicated to innovative ski and snowboard gear, and a board member of Winter4Kids, an organization that provides outdoor experiences to underserved youth. A dedicated advocate for athlete development, Ted has served on the World Cup Dreams Foundation Board for 10 years, supporting the next generation of U.S. ski athletes.

World & Olympic Champion

Jim is a Principal at OneDigital in Boston with over 30 years of experience advising businesses on corporate and executive benefits. A Boston College graduate and former varsity ski racer, Jim remains deeply connected to the ski community as a Killington Mountain School (KMS) alum, longtime Trustee, and parent of three ski athletes—including two KMS graduates and a current student. He actively mentors student-athletes and supports athletic and academic development through his philanthropic work. Jim’s personal commitment to the sport and its athletes aligns closely with the mission of the World Cup Dreams Foundation.

Jim Bianchi

A four-time Olympian (2002–2014) and World Cup downhill winner in Chamonix, he competed at the highest level for 17 seasons, earning a reputation for resilience, grit, and longevity in the sport. As the founder of American Downhiller Ski Camps, he is deeply committed to grassroots ski development, working alongside his wife, Anna, to mentor young racers and foster their growth in the sport. His passion for athlete development extends to his role on the World Cup Dreams Foundation Board, where he continues to support the next generation of ski talent.

Marco Sullivan

Steven Nyman is a three-time World Cup winner at Val Gardena and an 11-time podium finisher, making him one of the U.S.’s top downhill racers. A 21-year veteran of the U.S. Ski Team (2002-2023) and a three-time Olympian, Steven is known for his speed, leadership, and mentorship both on and off the hill. Throughout his career, he worked with a range of endemic and non-endemic brands, helping develop, expose, and sell their products through athletic storytelling and relationships. Since retiring, Steven continues to contribute to the outdoor industry by focusing on brand development, sales, and creating private skiing experiences for clients. As a board member of the World Cup Dreams Foundation, Steven remains dedicated to supporting the next generation of ski athletes in reaching their dreams.

Scott Macartney is a former U.S. Ski Team member with multiple top-10 finishes in World Cup alpine skiing events. After retiring from competition, Scott transitioned to a career in finance and is now an investment advisor at Martin Nelson & Co. He is also one of the founders of the World Cup Dreams Foundation, where he has been an active supporter of U.S. ski athletes. With his experience on the World Cup circuit and a deep understanding of both the sport and finance, Scott brings a unique perspective to his work, helping to support the next generation of ski athletes through the Foundation.

Tommy Biesemeyer is a former U.S. Ski Team member and Olympian, known for his strength in downhill and super-G. After retiring from competition, he served as Executive Director of the World Cup Dreams Foundation, where he grew annual fundraising from $50,000 to over $1.5 million. Tommy now works in private wealth management at Stifel Financial and serves as Chairman of the Board for World Cup Dreams, continuing his commitment to supporting athletes and their long-term goals.
