Welcome to the official World Cup Dreams page of the Ski Team's National Training Group! Us four (Jimmy Krupka, Andrew Miller, Ben Ritchie, and Luke Winters) are the next generation of American alpine racers. We need your support to make it to the next level and turn our World Cup dreams into reality.
Why We're Raising Funds (and why 100k)
The U.S. Ski Team does not receive funds from the U.S. government, so it is our responsibility to fund ourselves. Team fees for each athlete are $25,000 excluding travel costs, (which means 100,000 for our four person team).
Though our parents have worked hard to support us up to this point, we can no longer lean so heavily on them as we work hard to become financially independent and take control of our own fates. We work part-time jobs in between training blocks to defray the cost, but we simply do not have enough time.
Meet the Team:
Jimmy Krupka (19 y/o) was born in Boston, MA and learned to ski at Cannon Mountain in New Hampshire. He moved to Waitsfield, Vermont when he was twelve and began attending Green Mountain Valley School, the local ski academy, in seventh grade. He graduated in 2016 and has deferred from Dartmouth College. We call Jimmy "Left Shark" after the internet-sensation shark costume in Katy Perry's Superbowl performance that was a just little offbeat, because he can be spacey sometimes...
Andrew Miller (18 y/o) was born in Boston, MA and moved to Park City, UT when he was seven. He grew up skiing at Park City Mountain Resort and attended the Winter Sports School for high school. He graduated in 2016 and has deferred from Dartmouth College. Andrew works at a Lululemon retailer and is undoubtedly our fashion expert on the team.
Luke Winters (20 y/o) was born in Oregon and grew up in Gresham, OR. He learned to ski at the Mt. Hood Ski Bowl and attended Sugar Bowl Academy in Truckee, CA for high school. He graduated in 2015 and has deferred from Montana State University. Luke is our team captain and also happens to be a very skilled fisherman.
Ben Ritchie (17 y/o) (Not in video) was born in Vermont and raised on the slopes of Jay Peak. In seventh grade he moved to Waitsfield, VT and began attending Green Mountain Valley School. He is the youngster on the team and is starting his junior year of high school. Ben is our basketball phenom and we love to watch him beat everyone on the World Cup Team, 1-on-1.
