Rowmark Academy grad Breezy Johnson spent just one winter training with the U.S. Ski Team’s National Training Group and qualified for the Development Team for the 2015 season. How’d she do it? For starters, she finished fifth in the NorAm downhill standings, landed 15th in downhill at the 2014 FIS Junior World Ski Championships and tallied up a bunch of Europa Cup experience.
Johnson moved up the ranks during the 2016 season to ski with the likes of teammates Lindsey Vonn (Vail, CO). For Johnson, 2016 was a season of firsts, including her first NorAm win, Europa Cup win, World Cup points and her first national title. Not only did she score her first World Cup points, landing in 28th at Garmisch Partenkirchen in the downhill, but she also went on to secure the U.S. National downhill title in Aspen at season's end. Add to that the season-long NorAm downhill title, which secures Johnson a World Cup spot for the 2017 season, and Johnson is well on her way to becoming a standout American Downhiller with a very bright future. Keep an eye on this one!
