My name is Jeremy Mathers. I was born in 2001. I was raised skiing at Alta up in Little Cottonwood Canyon. I started skiing at Alta Ski Area when I was 2, and I fell in love with it. I have been free skiing and racing out of Alta and Snowbird since then. I was super lucky to live in an employee apartment at Alta with my parents and brother and attend the Alta One Room School House from Kindergarten through 7th grade. Both of my parents work at Alta year round. I am focused on ski racing now and I have been a Snowbird Ski Team racer since age 9. I had an awesome year in 2017 - 2018, my first year racing FIS. I won a FIS race in Colorado and a few other USSA races in Utah. I accomplished my goal to qualify for Senior Nationals and Junior Nationals my first year in FIS. I skied fast and lowered my points enough to qualify for the National Development Group and the Western Region Team. I recently attended my first NDG Camp which was super productive. I am learning a lot and getting faster.
My long term goal as a ski racer is to race World Cup and compete in the Olympic Winter Games representing the USA and Little Cottonwood Canyon. This will take hard work on the hill and in the gym, some fast skiing and the finances to attend all of the necessary training projects and races.
Thank you for helping!
