My name is Jevin Palmquist, and I have been nominated for the 24/25 U.S. Ski Team. This has been my childhood goal since I started skiing at the age of 2 at Buck Hill, Minnesota. I skied at Buck Hill for 10 years. Eventually, we moved to Colorado to join Team Summit when I was 12. I raced for Team Summit Colorado for the last 4 years and it has been the perfect team for me and my family. Being in a positive environment with great leadership and awesome teammates has tremendously impacted me.  I’m fortunate to have great coaches and friends to support me. I’ve learned so many valuable things from skiing in the past 15 years. Traveling the world to ski race at so many great resorts has been so cool. I’ve met so many great people around the world. 

 

I have 3 other siblings who are also at an elite level in the sport of ski racing. It has been awesome growing up with them and learning from one another. All of us are very competitive, and we all push each other to be the best version of ourselves. We have big dreams we want to achieve in our ski racing career. This nomination to the US Ski Team came with a price of $25.000. This is more than twice the amount of last year’s cost at Team Summit. This has been a financial challenge for my family.  I have dedicated my whole life to this sport. For 15 years, I have worked hard and stayed focused to get to where I am now. I have dreamed about this opportunity and made it a goal. Now with this high cost, my goal feels like it could be taken away. I am asking for financial assistance to help pay this high cost this year to reach my goals.

 

My goals this season are to win a NOR-AM, be in the top ten World Juniors, and make C-team criteria. I’ve had a dream since I started racing that I wanted to win the Olympics. I continue to work hard on and off the snow towards that dream. My dream could be taken away from me because of the high costs. So now, more than ever is when I will most need support.
