STORY

My name is Storm Klomhaus and I am a 22-year old alpine ski racer. I grew up in Boulder, Colorado, and started racing at Eldora Mountain when I was 8 years old. I qualified for the National Training Group (NTG) after winning U16 Nationals and I competed for NTG the following 4 years. After my time with NTG, at age 17 I started college at the University of Denver (DU) and began racing for their NCAA team. December of my Sophomore year, I tore my ACL, and the following 2 years I underwent 6 knee surgeries to get me back on snow.

The October following my last knee surgery in March, I started my first World Cup in Solden, Austria. That year I also got to complete my senior season for DU after missing the previous 2 years, and I earned the opportunity to compete at my first NCAA Championships. There, I won the 2020 NCAA GS Championship, and I graduated a few months later with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Pre-Medicine degree. The following year I skied for a private women's ski team named Team X. At the end of the year, I podiumed 3 events at US Nationals and was named to the US Ski Team, and will be competing for them for the 2021-2022 season.
